A Dire Need of Organic Farming: In 21st Century

"According to the definition given by Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO)Organic Farming is a unique production management system, which promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, carbon based cycles and soil biological activity," which exclude all synthetic farm inputs.
IS concept of organic farming is based on the following principles :
  • Nature is best role model for farming, since it does not use any inputs nor does it demand unreasonable quantities of water.
  • The system of organic farming tries to work with nature. It will not encourage the  concept of mining  the soil, because it may degrade the soil nutrients. In this way it is protecting the scarce resources for both present and future generation.
  • Soil is the base for organic farming and this system treats soil as a living entity.
  • The soil living microorganisms have to be protected and nurtured, because it will contribute to soil's fertility.
  • The environment of the soil, from soil structure to soil cover is more important.
